Corning Museum of Glass Family Fun

Think kids and glass don’t mix? Think again! The Corning Museum of Glass brings the science, art, and history of glass to life through glassmaking demonstrations, immersive exhibits, and Make Your Own Glass experiences. Its collection houses 35 centuries of glass history, art, science and innovation. With its impressive gallery spaces, dynamic demonstrations, and hands-on activities, it’s a destination the whole family can enjoy. Kids and teens 17 and under are free.

Explore the science of glass through interactive displays in the Innovation Center then take a trip through 3,500 years of glassmaking history in the world’s largest collection of glass, featuring nearly 50,000 pieces of glass art from Ancient Egypt to the present day. Walk through the daylit Contemporary Art + Design Galleries and discover the best of the last 30 years in glass.

Glass Comes to Life


You’ll be blown away by the beauty of hot glass, as our master glassmakers shape and twist the molten material into intricate objects. Live, narrated glassblowing demonstrations are a highlight of any visit to the Museum. During summer and school breaks, participate in the You Design It; We Make It demonstrations, where your drawing may be chosen to be turned into glass.

Make Your Own Glass


Experience the magic of glassmaking firsthand during a Make Your Own Glass experience and create a masterpiece with the help of one of our glassmakers. Projects are available for all ages and include fused picture frames and suncatchers, sandblasted drinking glasses, flameworked beads and pendants, pulled glass flowers, and delicate blown ornaments!
