The Ithaca area has a lot of activities to do with kids, often free or budget-friendly that will provide a fun experience for exploring and learning.  You’ll find something for family members of all ages and all abilities to enjoy.  

Points of Interest

The Sciencenter is a hands-on children’s science museum inspiring excitement for science through interactive exhibits and programs that engage, educate, and empower. The museum offers guests of all ages more than 250 exhibits, weekly educational programs, gift shop, outdoor science park, and an 18-hole mini-golf course.

Kayak, stand up paddleboard, or canoe! Outfitters like Paddle-n-more have rentals available from Taughannock Falls Park, Stewart Park, and Myers Park in Lansing. Advance reservations are required. 

Free, and open to everyone, the Ithaca Children’s Garden connects children, youth, teens and families to nature through it’s 3-acre public garden in Cass Park. In addition to providing a beautiful place for discovery, ICG offers outstanding permaculture-inspired environmental education year-round. It is located near the Cayuga Waterfront Trail, for additional walking and biking opportunities.
